The True Blessing

The True Blessing

There is no greater reminder in all of Scripture that Romans 4:1-8.  Here the apostle Paul reminds us that our salvation is a work of God whereby we are justified not on account of works but rather by faith in Christ.

The True Blessing

We may have something to revel in through the flesh but not before God.

Romans 4:2 (ESV) 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

How Does the Gospel Affect Your Everyday Life?

How does the gospel fffect your everyday life?

In Colossians 3:16 God’s word is to dwell in us. In other words , God’s Word is to dwell in the believer as we study, meditate and apply His word to our lives.   It is to become a permanent abiding part of our lives.

How Does the Gospel Affect Your Everyday Life

A Biblical Love

A Biblical Love

The Judaizers of Paul’s day had come to Galatia with a new message that in reality wasn’t new at all. They were critical of the freedom the Galatians were experiencing in Christ.

A Biblical Love

Their message was, “it’s great you found Christ but you must add the works of the Law to be fully complete in Him. But Pual reminds these believers to stand firm in their freedom in Christ.

Our Completed Salvation

Our Completed Salvation

Paul’s prayer for the Philippian believers was one of confidence. Philippians 1:6 is more than a text regarding the security of the believer.

Our Completed Salvation

It points to the fact that no matter how much we fail, despite life’s uncertainties and difficulties, no matter how many spiritual defeats we may encounter along the way, one day the believer in Jesus Christ will be made perfect.

Trusting The God Who Loves Us

Trusting the God Who Loves Us.

How often have you been in a place where you are telling yourself you can’t do it or you’re in the wrong place. But there you are, cast down preaching a gospel of defeat into your life.  There you are like the Psalmist questioning yourself.

Trusting The God Who Loves Us

Psalm 42:5 (ESV) 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? ….

Freedom In Christ

Freedom In Christ

There are those who would say that our liberty will just become an occasion for sin.  The full letter of the book of Galatians refutes such a notion and calls it another gospel that in fact is no gospel at all.

I Will Be With You

I Will Be With You

In our text, Joshua was now taking over the leadership of Israel after the long ministry of Moses.  He could have been easily overwhelmed if all he did was evaluate himself and his new position based upon the past ministry of Moses.

I Will Be With You

But God points Joshua to the only one who had the right to judge, the One who placed him in his new position, God Himself. And He left Joshua with a promise, “I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.”

Make This Year For His Glory Alone

Make this year for His glory alone.

As we start this New Year I would like to remind you that for the believer it is never about us. Our resolutions etc. never bring us to a place we acknowledge that life is not about us but about God.

Make This Year For His Glory Alone

The purposes of God thunder across the pages of Scripture.  The Bible is about what God has done, is doing , and will do in the future to His own glory and our benefit.

The Word Became Flesh

The wortd became flesh. Verse 14 tells us the Logos became flesh, incarnate and dwelt among mankind.  This is undeniability a reference to Jesus Christ.  Now God has revealed Himself to us in the person of the incarnate Jesus!

The Word Became Flesh

And John in our text in the Gospel of John reveals Jesus as the eternal Logos, the living incarnate Word of God.   He has now come as a man in human flesh.
